Asian Sailing Federation was funded in 1981. （亞洲帆船聯(lián)合會(huì))

Aims:

To act the coordinating body of the Association / Federation of the affiliated members engaged in the sport of sailing. To work for the promotion, extension and development of sailing, which includes: sailing, windsurfing, radio controlled sailing, extreme sailing, keelboat sailing and disabled sailing. To promote international goodwill and understanding through sport exchange programmers.

Membership is open to all recognized national bodies in countries affiliated to the Olympic Council of Asia and who must already be members of the International Sailing Federation. The founder menbers of the International Sailing Federation are those that attended the meeting of the ASAF on 28 November 1981 at Bombay.

Application for membership

Application for membership of the ASAFshall be made to its Secretariat and must be forwarded with:

1. certificate by the concerned NOC that the application is the sole recognized national organization for sailing (MNA);

2. a copy of the Constitution and by-laws of the applicant; and

3. Confirmation of acceptance as a member of ISAF.
